the great naturalist, Sir David Attenborough. This æSeeds of the FutureÆ capsule, prepared under the auspices of the World Wildlife Fund Plants Campaign, contains seeds of basic food crops and endangered species, many of which may have disappeared from
the wild by the time the capsule is exhumed. The operation emphasises the importance of plant collection not only for reference, but also as a bank of genetic resources for conservation purposes.\par
